About Nancy Murray

Nancy Murray is the author of the acclaimed memoir One Child for Another (11th Hour Press, 2015), the poetry collection The Colors of Fear (Cyberwit Press, 2023), and her newest memoir No Experience Necessary: Stories from Life in the Works (Wayword Books, 2024).

 

Her poetry, plays, and short stories have been published, produced, and performed locally and internationally.

 

She is currently working on Heirloom, a literary nonfiction project exploring how generational trauma shapes the stories that shape our lives, and introducing a framework she calls The Flash and the Fiction.

 

Nancy is a recipient of the Anne Arundel County Arts Council Annie Award for Literary Arts and the Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Award for Individual Artists.

Nancy Murray is the contributing editor for Liminal Spaces, Volumes I and II - collections of poetry infused artwork by the brilliant artists of South County, Maryland and the poets from Nancy's Words on the Thirds Poetry Group. All proceeds for the sale of these books goes to The Art's Lab of South County to support the local arts community and to PoetryXHunger to turn poetry into food for the hungry.
